Borsec residency is hold in a mansion from Borsec Statiune, the upper part of Borsec town, in the middle of Romania. It is open to worldwide artists and writers to come and work  individually or as a group on a project related with the area or just with what inspiration and ideas they get from Zone.

The town, Carpathian mountains and Transylvania province have a long history and cultural backgrounds that inspire. The mansion (villa) is in a quiet area with a park of old trees around. It has a large courtyard with two confortable sitting and working places and an open fire seat. The rooms are fully furnished, large and clean with balconies. There's a fully equipped kitchen at the ground floor, wifi.  A general store, an open market, two restaurants, a pub and a bank with ATM are near. Downtown is at 12 minutes walk.

Borsec residency is open all year long. applications are ongoing and a response is received in seven days. The costs of residency are 70 euro per week (seven nights stay).



A good internationally connected airport is close to Cluj city from where you can travel by train to Toplita train station, near Borsec, in 3-4 hours. You can reach easily Cluj by plane from UK, Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, France and Hungary (Vienna, London, Rome, Venice, Pisa, Barcelona, Paris etc.) Check,, Targu Mures airport, is at 2-3 hours to Borsec, and has convenient flights from Hungary, UK, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Finland etc. See also,, Iasi city is connected to Borsec by daily minibuses. You can reach Iasi city from Europe with few airlines such Austrian Airlines, Tarom, Wizzair or Blue Air.

There is a direct train to Toplita from Bucharest, Romania's capital but it is a longer trip, about 6 hours.

From Cluj and Tirgu Mures you have daily trains stopping at Toplita. Buses and minivans can drop you off in Toplita bus station or Borsec central square.
